Report

So having finally been able to play this fixture, Fox & Hounds won the toss and elected to bat first. This looked to be a good choice as both openers got of to a good start off the suprising wayward bowling of Dobbell (who was suffering a side strain) 30 off the first 3. Dobbin was soon into the action as Wayne positioned at short fine leg took a good catch to remove the opener. Nathan continued to bowl well and a great piece of fielding from Pete Mathews on the boundary saw a direct hit claim another wicket. Nathan having been beating the bat on numerous occasions finally got the luck he deserved as a miss timed pull saw Dave Martin run in from the boundary to take a good diving catch. This was followed up by and even better catch from Nick on the leg side as a Dobbin half tracker was smashed threw the Midwicket region only stoped on route to the boundary by the outstretched hand of Nick who claimed the catch at the second attempt. With the scoring restrained Foxes were precariously placed on 60 for 7 with 5 to go. With the absence of Sharpe the first change bowler was Nick who's bowling was again rather expensive. Lee from the other however was economical and bowled well claiming his first Winterbourne Wicket as the visitors managed to scrape 91 for 9.

so with a modest total to chase, Nick and Wayne set about their business. The foxes didn't help there cause as numerous wides and extras immidiately brought the run rate down, followed by some excellent hitting from Wayne saw 69 added of just 8 overs before Wayne was finally out caught trying to pull a ball for 26. Next in was Tim Gallimore who had not played for a while. This showed as he scratched his way to 3 before unfortunately getting LBW to one that kept low. Next in was Gary Dell and both he and Nick played their shots and got Winterbourne home in the 12th over.
Well done lads another good win and a great fielding display.
